Cyber Bully / Stalking – Seminar as a Community Service. December 2014

On December 16th, 2014 – Detective Mike Graziano of SCPD Computer Crime Division came to our school and gave a Great Seminar on Cyber Bullying / Stalking. We would like to also say Thank You to Detective Graziano and everyone that came down and learned a lot of Important Information to keep their children safe from Bullies and Stalkers.

Mount Elementary School Passport Around The World Invitation.  2011 thru 2017

On March 3rd 2011,our Martial Arts Demo Team – performed for the very 1st time at Mount Elementary School in StonyBrook.  Our team has been since September 1st 2010. In that 5 month time span, Sensei John, Sensei DJ and Sempai Sil – worked with the team to teach them a kata, their weapon forms and we then synced the routines with the music.  Team Members:   Ilka St. Denis, Kayla St. Denis, Cristina Costantino, Skylar Johnston, Thomas Indelicato, Charlotte Grady, Shannon Grady, Sage Hardy, Andrew Capozzi, Jenna Capozzi, Brian Rodriguez.

Mount Elementary School Career Day.  2010 thru 2013, 2015 – 2016

 We have participated in the Annual Mount Elementary School Career Day Event since 2010. We run the children through a mini Karate class that includes exercises, stretches, motor skills development and basic Self Defense techniques. We discuss Bullying and provide them with basic Verbal Self Defense Instruction to defuse a situation and stress that Physical Self Defense is always our last resort.

Nassakeag Elementary School Career Day.   2016

2016 was our First Year in participating at Nassakeag Elmentary School Career Day Event and we are lokking forward to 2017.  We discussed

Annual Mother's Day Breakfast.  2010 thru 2017

Each year we have a Special Day Event for Mother's Day – We provide Bagels (from Bagels Your Way in Mt. Sinai), Coffee, OJ, Fruit Cups. While the Mom's sit, relax and talk with our Mom's the son's/daughters make their Mom's feel like Queens by severing them a Special Breakfast. While the Mom's are relaxing the kids are having fun running around and having a good time as well.. Until Mom calls and wants a 2nd cup of coffee..

In 2014 – instead of a Morning Breakfast, we had an Afternoon brunch – We had a Giant Bagel stuffed with American and Italian Cold Cuts, 3 Salad dishes and drinks (from Bagels Your Way in Mt. Sinai). This went over so well that we'll be now having a Monther's Day Brunch instead of Breakfast..

Annual Father's Day Brunch.  2010 thru 2017

Each year we have a Special Day Event for Father's Day – We've had either a BBQ or a Heroes or Pizza and drinks. But before we dive into the food all the Dad's and their kids jump on the mats and we a Special Dad and Son/Daughter Karate class. The kids teach their Dads, how to punch, kick and block, and they're having a great time laughing and joking around. Once the class is done, the Dad's sit while their son or daughter serves them. Many of the Dad's had so much fun that they've signed up for classes themselves.. 

Annual Karate Picnic  2011 thru 2014

Each year we hold a Karate PIcnic at one of the Suffolk County Parks. They've been held at the Lake Ronkonkoma and South Haven Parks to date. It's a Bring your own affair,. We have activies planned from Hula Hoop Competition, Water Balloon Fights, Potatoe Sack Races, Football game, Egg Toss competition, etc. Everyone's has a great time having fun and getting to know each other better and when it's time to leave everyone's dragging their feet because it's over for this year..

Annual Halloween Party 2009 thru 2016

Each year we host a Halloween Party for all our students and guest(s). Everyone including the Sensei's must wear a costume. The kids run around laughing and playing with balloons, the we start playing games like: Dance Contest, Make a Mummy, Musical Pumpkin, Monster Says, etc.. The Best 3 Costumes receive prizes…The kids have a great time every year!!!

Annual Christmas Party 2009 thru 2016

Each year we host a Christmas Party for all our students and guest(s). The kids run around laughing and playing with balloons, the we start playing games like: Dance Contest, Drop the Egg into the Christmas Sock, Musical Santa, Elf Monster Says, etc.. Then the Big Surprise is when the Big Guy comes a knocking. He sits with child hears what they want Christmas or Hanukkah and poses for pictures.  Even the Big kids sit with him.  The kids have a great time every year!!!

Annual Saint Jude Karate Kick A Thon 2011 thru 2012

Since 2011 Crino's Martial Arts has been an event sponsor for St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital and has held Kick A Thon every year, Our students perform 1 kick for every dollar that is pledged. Our Kick A Thon participants range from 4 years old to adult. On the day of the Kick A Thon, we strategically place all our martial arts equipment throughout the school before we start. The Kick-A-Thon starts at 1 PM and ends at 3 PM.  During this 2 hour time span the students are doing front, side, roundhouse and flying side kicks with enthusiasm and commitment, they’re laughed and having a Great time.  Our participants demonstrated one of the most deep-seated beliefs of the Martial Arts: Doing what you can to help others.

In 2011 our students received $2,100 in pledges and performed over 10,000 kicks.

In 2012 our students received $2,800 in pledges and performed over 12,000 kicks.

Free Women’s Self Defense Seminar  2011 thru 2017

On February 26th, 2011: we held our 1st Free Women’s’ Self Defense Seminar. We had a Great Turnout. Each participant received training in several techniques (striking, kicking and knee), Towards the end of each seminar the participants has a chance to perform the techniques on the instructor with full power. When the seminar ended all the participant left felling empowered and with a better understanding of the importance’s of awareness and how F.A.S.T. (Fear Adrenal Stress Training) can be used to their benefit.

In 2014 we held 2 Free Women's Self Defense Seminar at Lucille Roberts in Stony Brook.

First Aid, CPR & AED Certification performed on site  2010 thru 2014

Crino's Martial Arts in conjunction with The American RedCross – have hosted several  First Aid, CPR & AED Certification Course.   This certification course was open to the Parents of our students and the Community. Participants have been  Myriam Crino,  John Crino,  Sil Crino, Sil Crino Jr., Robin Abramowitz, Matt  Swinford, Falarien Gibson,  Veronica Gibson,, D.J. Crino, Ilka St. Denis, Kayla St. Denis, AJ Colleta,  

Karate Camp August 2010 thru 2013, 2016, 2017

In 2010 we hosted our 1st Annual Summer Karate Camp and the kids had a GREAT TIME. Our camp is open to everyone not just our karate students and we’ve had a Great turnout each year.  Our campers receive a Crino’s Martial Arts Karate T-Shirt.

The campers receive basic karate training and also discuss Bullying.  The kids have a Great Time playing games and they especially love playing Dodge Ball. We use Nerf balls so no one gets hurt.  We watch a different martial arts related movies each week. These are some the movies we have watched over the years:  Karate Kid,  Ninja Turtles 1, 2 & 3, Kung Fu Panda, Power Rangers, New Karate Kid, 3 Ninja’s. The campers enjoy a snacks and drinks during the movie.

Many of our campers have signed up for additional weeks and also for regular class because they’ve had so much fun with the games and karate.

Grandmaster Feliciano Ferreira  a.k.a  Prof. Kimo – Kempo Self Defense Seminars   2010 thur 2017

Professor Kimo Is a world renowned Master and Kempo Historian. Professor Kimo, comes to the mainland every year from Oahu, Hawaii to see all his students progress and to continues our training. While the Professor is here he in the continental USA he holds Kempo Jutsu Seminars for numerous schools across the country.

Whenever the Professor holds a seminar at our school we have Martial Arts students from different arts and from all over Long Island, New York City, Connecticut and from as far away as Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Virginia.

The seminars have consisted of numerous techniques, variation and possible options:  from his system Kempo Jutsu, from Professor William "Thunderbolt" Chow: The Father of Modern Day Kempo, from James Mitose, Stick and Knife, Dirty Boxing,
