True Story:  Our daughter started training in Martial Arts at the age of 4, she is currently a Second Degree Black Belt in both Kempo Jiu Jitsu and Kempo Jutsu.

When our daughter was away at college, she almost never left the buildings the safest way out; it was always the quickest and not safest way out.  One night she went to the college gym to work out, finished about 11 PM then headed to her dorm.  The safest way would have been 14th Street; the closest way was 13th Street and also the darkest way.  On her way to dorm     someone was followingwomen stalked 1 her.  What does she do? She confronts him, not once, not twice but 3 times. The first two times, she turned, faced him each time and in an assertive voice, "Can I help you?". He stopped and backed off each time.  As she reached the corner she sensed he was still around, she stopped looked around, this time he was across the street watching her.  She

challenged him, "OK, I'm here what do you want??  Come on!"  the guy looked at her and ran off.

As parents we know she can take care of herself. We still fear the crazies that are out there, but we also know we have given her everything to prepare her for what's out there.
